Film Poster Analysis-4- Rebecca

The symbol becomes a motif that the audience are likely to look out for as symbols usually lead people to the cause of the disruption that occurs in the film. Symbols can be usually reaccuring images that are also used to haunt the killer. 

The writing near the top of the poster adds tension as it says when they disappeared however does not say what happened to them a part from '...their footage was found' but not the people. Small bits of text on horror film posters create enigmas for the audience that will be answered for them when they go and see the film therefore the poster is also used as a piece of publicity in order to gain a larger audience.

Eyelevel shot creates an intimacy with the audience- when they look at the poster it is the first thing that hits them.The shot of the image with the minimal/ artificial lighting reinforces the sense of the unknown that we get from the darkness and the forest.

The black background with the woods shows the sense and fear of the unknown and highlights that the reason for their diappearance is likely to be found in the woods. 

This title could be a suggestion to what has happened to the teenagers as it was 'the Blair Witch Project' and therefore
