The front page immeditely grabs your attention due to the extreme close up of an old fashioned doll-this shot type is a main feature in setting the horror genre. The blood dripping from her eye adds an ominous tone and makes it more disturbing for the audience to see especially as the doll is also smiling. The slogan 'before The Conjuring there was Annabelle' which is used in the Annabelle trailer is also reitereated on the website and therefore this creates familiarity and allows the audience to associate both the trailer and website. The colour scheme of red,black and white is typical of the horror genre due to their contrasting connotations. Red connoting danger, blood and black connoting death and mystery contrasted with the white which connotes purity and is usually quite a positive colour.
The website is easy to navigate as it has the bar at the top which, when clicked on, takes the viewer to that particular page. It is simplistic however very effective which is what I aim to make our website to be. As well as this on the website there is some background music which is typically associated with the horror genre consising of minor keys that create a menacing feel to the website. Therefore even though it is a website non-diegetic sound still has a large role is ensuring the horror genre is clearly presented. Therefore on our website I will add a track which represents horror.
The use of social media is also typically used on an film website not just horror as this allows the audience to have a variety of ways that they can obtain information about the film. This is a feature I will try to incude on our website however it may be difficult to create some accounts for our trailer however the main page we have created is a Facebook group- this will be linked on the website homepage.
