When thinking of a completely new name for our product company, we did find it quite difficult to think of one that would both sound realistic and have a ring to it and also one that would make sense and relate to the genre of our film trailer. We decided to make it easier for ourselves and to get the best result, by making a tally chart of possible names that we came up with that could potentially be our final production company name, to the left is a photograph of our tally chart, it shows the possible names that we came up with, these were;

• Scream Productions

• Fear Films 

• Paranormal Productions

• Screech Pictures 

• Nailed 

With both fear films and paranormal productions, we felt that these names had more of a ring to them due to the alliteration, it grabs peoples attention more. Although from our tally chart we can see that the least liked name was actually Fear Films, we think that this is due to the fact it doesn't sound as proffessional as the other names that we have, and that it doesn't grab the audience as much.

 

Another option we had on the list was Nailed, this also scored quite highly, we felt that this could have been a good name to use, because it is one word it grabs attention more, and Nailed appears to be quite a hard hitting word, especially when used on its own. 

 

Our top rated name was Paranormal Productions, hence why it is now our final production company names, we feel that this was the most liked name due to the alliteration with the P's and also because paranormal is a good representation and link to the horror genre, therefore is grabbing more people's attention as you automatically feel that the films this company are producing are going to be somewhat paranormal and horrific. We did have to decide whether or not we wanted the name as Productions or Pictures, we went with productions as to us it flowed better than pictures.
