Pitch 1- feedback and Action plan

Feedback:

For storylines 1 and 3, it would be very difficult to get a child to act in the way you need them to. They have to be authentic and able to act either possessed or scared otherwise this would not work and it will not look realistic or professional.

We shouldn't overcomplicate our trailer by having too many things happening in it. As this could take away from making the audience feel on edge therefore we need to keep it miniimalistic but t the same time ensure that there is enough detail to scare the audience.  The atmosphere of the film needs to be eerie from the beginning, it needs to ensure that the audience get a sense of abnormaility. For storyline 2 the setting of a school would not be realistic and would look very amateur however the manor is a better use of setting as it does not look like a stereotypical school. As well as this the manor is a very old building that holds a tense and scary atmosphere.

With this feedback we need to make a definite decision on our storyline and in order to do this it is best to use Torodov's narrative structure for all three storylines so that we can see which one wil be most effective in enticing the audience.

This particular effect would be good to use for storyline 1 as the child is possessed by the dolls spirit therefore this effect can be used to show the spirit taking over the child.

This is an interesting effect whic hwe thought we could use in our trailer. The demon face could be used to replace the face of the dead in storyline 2. it could also be used in storyline 3 for the child.

We could use this for all three stroylines as it shows abnormality. storyline 1 it can be used after the spirit has possessed the child, storyline 2 it can be used for the dead, and for storyline 3 it can be used for the child as they have been locked away in the darkness for years.

This in particular could be used mainly for storyline 1 after the spirit has taken over the child to show that it is taking over their body. It could also be used for storyline 3 as something may have entered the child whilst they were locked away in the room which has made them act in this way.

Action Plan

Teachers murder myth storyline
Child possessed by doll storyline
Demonic child storyline

The pictures above show our three storylines explained using Torodov's narrative structure. By doing this we have decided that the first storyline regarding the myth of the murdered teacher is the one in which we are going to do. This is because we have all the people and the locations available whereas with the other two storylines we are unsure where we would be able to film them in order for it to look professional and be effective. As well as this it is easier to make teenagers act in the way we want them to than to try and make a child act in a demonic way as it may not look authentic. The first storyline we were able to decide on how the equlibrium will be reinstated at the end of the film however with the other two the reinstating of equilibrium is unclear and we do not have an idea of how this is able to happen.
